One of the most interesting games of round 28 was a derby match between two teams from Belgium. Seventh rankedSpirou Charleroi won against host Okapi Aalst (13-14) 89-72 . Charleroi made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Chris Lykes (169-1998, college: Arkansas) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and Bulgarian forward Yordan Minchev (202-1998) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Spirou Charleroi's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Bosnian forward Njegos Sikiras (205-1999, agency: PEPI SPORT) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Niels Van Den Eynde (179-2000) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Charleroi (16-11) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Den Bosch. Aalst lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Charleroi will meet at home Den Helder (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aalst will play against Feyenoord in Rotterdam and hope to secure a win.
